# File demo

Reference to a file as an inline record [dummy.pdf (PDF, 6.92 kB) ](/files/145765/1730925112-dummy.pdf) or [custom text for link to file (PDF, 6.92 kB) ](/files/145765/1730925112-dummy.pdf)in a paragraph text.

## File with a custom path

A file can be given a custom path. This is handy for things like `.well-known/` files. Here's a reference to a file as an inline file record with a custom path: [custom-path.pdf (PDF, 6.92 kB) ](/my-files/path/custom-path.pdf). And here it is as an [external link to /my-files/path/custom-path.pdf](/my-files/path/custom-path.pdf) so that it doesn't force a download, but shows the url in the browser.
